First Steps to Recovery

first-steps-to-recovery-from chronic-illness

Welcome

I am so glad you are here!

In case it is your first time here, please know that everything on this website is for you, as well as on the instagram channel and other channels. It is my sincerest wish to help you recover.

Below is the “Amari’s first steps to Recovery” list for you, with links to free resources on this site to get you started.

The Quick Low Down on Recovering from a Chronic Condition

“I made it. Recovery is possible. It’s been bad. But joy was at the end. And joy can be in the future for you too.”

You may have been led to believe that you will have to manage your symptoms for the rest of your life.

You may have been told by doctors, therapists and healers that “there is no cure” for your condition.

I want you to know that recovery is in fact totally possible.

The medical system is just not geared up to deal with the healing we actually need. That type we need is called Mindbody Healing.

You can begin today. It cannot hurt you. But because you have already been through so, so much, can you be gentle 💗

Up until now you have perhaps been calling this nightmare you have been living “a chronic illness journey”.

Well, because brain training is part of coming out of this (not like in the courses, more like a gentle way of unbrainwashing ourselves), can you start calling it your “Recovery Journey”.

THE “FIRST STEPS” LIST FOR YOUR RECOVERY JOURNEY

These are the first steps I did when I was at a big turning point – I went from being chronically sick for decades to “on a clear recovery journey”. I knew it was working within a few weeks.

These are also the first steps I give to my coaching clients.

Here are the First Steps for your Recovery as a list (you can copy to notes):

  1. Add structured rests to your days (Click here)
  2. Read the dr Sarno book THE MINDBODY PRESCRIPTION (free sample here on amazon)
  3. Surround yourself with hope, recovery stories and soothing music that you enjoy
  4. Try the super gentle Mindbody healing tool of Havening (Click here)
  5. If you are not severe, you can try the next healing tool of EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique / Tapping (Click here)

You can read more about my recovery journey here if you like.

Be Gentle to Recover

Being gentle might not mean what you think. So please allow me to explain.

It doesn’t mean you have to go to bed.

It means doing the kindest thing for you in that moment.

So, for example, adding four structured rests to your day (just as I recommend) is gentle to you as long as you are able to lie down or sit down. The rests are designed to help you rest your mind as well as your body. Most of us “rest” by lying down, and all that happens up to this point is our mind proceeds to torture us… so that really isn’t a rest at all. I have given you guidance on how to actually get a break.

If you are feeling very agitated (in fight / flight) then it may feel much too difficult to lie down several times a day for now with the goal of resting. Therefore a more gentle way to do these meditative structured rests, if you are feeling frenetic, is to allow yourself to pop on headphones and move around whilst listening.

So GENTLENESS is about applying whatever is easiest and kindest for you right now, at this moment.

Your nervous system doesn’t like sudden change.

So introduce each of the steps above one at a time – and then build them up gradually to form a routine in your day to day “Recovery Life”.

(Yes, I want us to rename your life too. It is now going to be called your “Recovery Life” and bear in mind this: it’s going to be temporary, because soon enough you will get to the one called your “Life after Recovering”)

💗

Note: to the Beautiful Soul reading this page… This page has already been a lot of information, so perhaps it is time for a meditative rest right now?

If you don’t know how to do that yet, just head to this page and spend a little while listening to the meditation, and this will soothe your nervous system and start to restore some of your precious energy.

💗

Well done for geting here.

💗 I’m glad you made it 💗
